Ciner Glass finalizes the land purchase process in Lommel, Belgium

Land in Lommel

On 2 February 2023, Ciner Glass signed a land transfer agreement for 240,000 m² at Kristalpark III. After having obtained the necessary permits, this constitutes the next step in the further development of Ciner Glass’ ambitious project for Lommel.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Mayor Bob Nijs, LRM’s CEO Tom Vanham, Ciner Glass’ Board Member Mehmet Ali Erdoğan and Yener Ciner. With this agreement, Ciner Glass finalizes the purchase process that started in 2021 and acquires the full right to use the land previously owned by LRM. This will enable the glass bottle manufacturer to move forward with its plans to build a state-of-the-art facility in Lommel.
In addition to its historical connection and heritage with the glass industry, Lommel was chosen for its strategic location. Among other things, the availability of quartz sand and glass cullet makes it possible to produce sustainable high-quality container glass and close the glass loop in Belgium. The site is also relatively close to the port of Antwerp and offers easy access by road, rail and waterway.
