Chairman of Ciner Glass, Mrs Didem Ciner, met with the new Flemish Minister-President Matthias Diependaele this week to provide an update on the construction progress being made at the glass plant in Lommel.
Also, the CEO of Ciner Glass, Mr. Gokhan Sen, Ciner Glass Board Member Cuneyt Basaran, and several senior representatives of Flanders Investment & Trade and Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship attended the meeting.
During the meeting, they discussed the technical aspects of the state-of-the-art container glass production facility and its importance in serving the European glass market, and a few important challenges in our path.
Mrs Ciner also provided an update on the recruitment process and how the project will create direct job opportunities for over 500 people, who will acquire the specific skill set required for glass-making through an in-depth and thorough training program.
The meeting came as this week Ciner Glass was also awarded Foreign Investor of the year by Flanders Investment and Trade
Commenting on the meeting, Mrs Ciner said: “It was fantastic to meet with the new Flemish Minister-President and provide him with an update on how our exciting plans are progressing at speed in Lommel. Throughout this process, the Flemish Government have been fervent supporters of our vision of reviving Belgium’s legacy in glass production. The Minister – President gave the message that the Flemish government is very positive about the project and that we can count on their support and expertise. “
