Ciner Glass becomes the new main sponsor of Lommel SK
Ciner Glass is a global container glass manufacturing company that is currently building a new production site in 2025 at Kristalpark III in Lommel. The project will create 550 new jobs in Lommel and an additional 500 indirect jobs.
The company places great importance on social responsibility and aims to bring about positive changes in the communities it engages with. The company is, therefore, delighted to today announce that it will become the lead sponsor for the local football club, Lommel SK, in the Belgium First Division B. Lommel SK is part of the City Football Group and a feeder club for the European giant Manchester City Football Club.
Local anchoring in the region is therefore a key priority for the company. Today’s announcement with Lommel SK is the first major step in this anchoring. Ciner Glass will feature on the back of the football shirts until the end of the season and will enhance further brand recognition through fixed and LED boarding. For the 2024-2025 season, the company has already expressed a strong commitment to grow alongside the club.
Yener Ciner, Ciner Glass Lommel: “From the very first discussion, we felt the warmth and professionalism that this club radiates. The values and ambitions that Lommel SK stands for align perfectly with ours. To sufficiently interest people in becoming part of the Ciner Glass family, we aim to increase our brand recognition in Lommel and the wider region, supporting other integral associations within the region, and the partnership with the Lommel Club provides a wonderful opportunity. Of course, we also closely follow the club’s results!”
Lennert Lodewijks, Commercial Manager of Lommel SK: “Every supporter or sympathizer of the club knows someone who has worked in the Lommel glass industry. We are therefore pleased to assist Ciner Glass in enhancing their brand visibility in our region and to trigger potential employees through our channels for the new employer. Moreover, their objectives align seamlessly with ours concerning development, community, and sustainability. The link between our club and glass production is woven into our club logo, where the laurel branches have been given a sharp edge, a nod to the traditional glass production in the region.”
Ciner Glass and Lommel SK will initiate their partnership until at least June 2025. Furthermore, the match on March 16th, Lommel SK vs. RSCA Futures, will be kicked off by the executives of Ciner Glass
